A youth has escaped with his life after he was sent flying into a parked vehicle when struck by a hooning car at Ipswich at the weekend.

A youth has narrowly escaped with his life after he was sent flying through the air when struck by a hooning car at Ipswich late on Saturday night.

Bystanders filmed and posted to Snapchat the moment the out-of-control car hit the 17-year-old, flipping him in the air before he become wedged under a parked car in Newhill Drive, Swanbank.

The teenager endured significant leg trauma, including the harrowing contortion of his right leg as it bent entirely in the opposite direction.

Queensland Ambulance Service were called and the boy was transported to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition, with footage posted to Snapchat including the caption: “the guy that got hit survived ayee c***.”

The hooning event came hours after Queensland police announced a crackdown on illegal car meet ups and hooning events which caused an uproar by locals in the Gold Coast suburb of Robina.

A spokesperson said police were monitoring the situation

“Investigators are appealing for the driver of the blue Ford Falcon to come forward,” they said.

“Investigations are continuing.”
