A MAN has spent Sunday morning in hospital after a late night smash in Burleigh Heads.
Queensland Ambulance paramedics were called after a car smashed into a parked vehicle before flipping onto its side on Christine Avenue around 11.30pm.
The man, believed to have been sitting in the parked car, was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.
A police spokeswoman said the driver of the flipped car had run from the scene and investigations were continuing.
Meanwhile a man in his 30s was also transported to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after fight between drunk people at Miami.
Amblance officers treated the man for a head injury after the incident near Henchman Ave just before midnight.
Police said several others sustained minor injuries and their investigations were continuing.

M1 crash causing delays
May 20: Motorists travelling on the M1 are facing delays following a two-vehicle crash on the motorway.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said the crash occurred shortly after 6pm between the exits to Southport-Nerang Rd and Smith St.
The northbound lane had been closed and one person was treated for neck pain.
SUV torched while owner on holidays
May 20: Police are investigating after an SUV suspected to be stolen was torched in the carpark of a Gold Coast sports club early on Thursday morning.
Gold Coast police were alerted to the 2010 Mazda CX-7 which had been set alight on Babbidge Street, Labrador about 4.05am, a Queensland Police spokeswoman said.

Police believe the vehicle had been stolen “as the owner is away on holidays”.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services firefighters arrived about 4.15am and found the fire in the Labrador Tigers AFL Sports Club carpark “well involved”, a spokesman said.
Firefighters spent about half an hour getting the fire under control, extinguishing the blaze and making sure the area was safe.
The car fire follows a spate of similar fires on the Coast, linked to either electrical faults or thieves stealing and torching vehicles.

A MAN has been taken to hospital suffering burns to his head and face after a unit was engulfed by fire on the southern Gold Coast on Thursday morning.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) firefighters arrived at a unit complex on Rolan Court at Palm Beach about 10.05am.

They found a first floor unit had been “engulfed by flames” and emergency services leapt into action to rescue at least one person, a QFES spokesman said.
It’s believed the person scooped to safety was the injured man aged in his 40s.
The unit complex was evacuated.
Firefighters spent about an hour battling the blaze, which did not spread to other units, but did impact the roof of the affected dwelling.
Firefighters were leaving the scene about 11.30am.
Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics treated the injured man and took him to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition about 10.15am, a spokeswoman confirmed.
QFES investigators will look over the premises to determine how the fire began.
Busy Coast bus stop decimated by out of control ute
May 19: A bus stop on a busy northern Gold Coast route was destroyed in a spectacular crash at Biggera Waters on Wednesday morning.
A Ford Ranger ute sustained major damage to its front and ended up across the footpath facing the opposite direction to traffic outside Metro Market shopping centre on Hollywell Rd just after 7am.

The ute was occupied by a woman and her two primary school aged children, according to a Gold Coast police spokeswoman.
The trio were not physically injured in the crash, which is being investigated by police.
People in the area did witness the dramatic incident.
Every panel of the safety glass on the bus stop was completely shattered, with a support beam taken out and the seat buckled by the impact.
TransLink’s website shows buses were scheduled to arrive at the stop at 6.55am and 7.10am, among other times, and it’s usually a well travelled route.
Fortunately, no one was waiting for a bus when the crash occurred.
Queensland Ambulance Service was not called after the crash, a spokeswoman said.
Woman in 70s hit by car on Coast badly injured
May 19: An elderly woman has been hospitalised with serious injuries after she was struck by a car on the Gold Coast.
Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics were called to the intersection of Proud St and Whiting St about 6.25am on Monday.

The woman aged in her 70s was reportedly walking in the area when the car ran into her.
She suffered a range of injuries to her abdomen, pelvis and a leg and was in a serious but stable condition at the time, according to a statement by QAS.
Paramedics took the woman to Gold Coast University Hospital for further treatment.
Gold Coast woman dies day after horror crash
May 10: A 90-year-old Paradise Point woman has died at Gold Coast University Hospital a day after being injured in a two-car accident at Coombabah.
Emergency services, including Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) critical care and high acuity paramedics, were called to the intersection of Oxley Dr and Hansford Rd at about 11.15am on Monday.
The paramedics took the 85-year-old male driver and 87-year-old female passenger from one of the cars to Gold Coast University Hospital with minor injuries.
The 90-year-old driver of the second vehicle was also taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital, but her condition deteriorated overnight and she died this morning.
