CONSTRUCTION of a $1.6 billion “mini-city’s” first stage is nearly done with the finishing touches being put on its two towers.
Giant “glass reinforced concrete” columns are being installed on Sunland Group’s The Lanes Residences weeks ahead of the first residents moving in.
The features of the 10 and 12 storey buildings were designed by NSW’s Contreras Earl Architecture.

Firm co-founder Monica Earl said: “Designing the sculptural facade elements has allowed us to express the scale and faceted volume of the towers and also to articulate the buildings both beside and between each other.
“The scale of the concrete ele-ments is quite large with a two-metre depth at the base of the towers which starts to fade away as they rise towards the sun thus creating an interesting and engag-ing design synonymous with the community.”

Apartments in the first stage of The Lanes Residences, known as the “East Village’’, are scheduled for completion mid-2021, costing $475,000 to $1.825 million.
Sunland first unveiled the project in December 2018.
The total bedrooms sit at 642 , which along with pre-approved buildings and completed town-houses, mean there will ultimately be 1262 bedrooms across the precinct. It will sit alongside the $82 million Lanes Shopping Centre and Lakes residential precinct.
