Standing beside some of Sydney’s hardest men are women with striking similarities — they are beautiful, love wearing bikinis and love sharing pictures to their loyal Instagram fans.
While some wives and girlfriends linked the city’s notorious figures prefer to remain private, others have developed considerable social media followers by sharing pictures of their glamorous lives.
The woman don’t have anything to do with their partners’ alleged activities, they are “Insta” famous in their own right.
The Instagram images of some of the women rival those of aspiring models trying to make it big on social media platforms. Meet the women whose partners are — and formerly — linked to Sydney’s underworld.
CHANTEL BAPTISTA
Shortly after he emerged from a stint in prison for manufacturing the drug ice in 2013, slain Sydney gangster Pasquale Barbaro separated from his wife and dated a string of young women — professional dancer Chantel Baptista was one of these women.
Of Portuguese heritage, she had reportedly been dating Barbaro at the time he was the victim of a gangland execution.
Ms Baptista was understood to be living with Barbaro and her mother in Sydney’s south.
At the time of his death, friends were writing messages of support on her Facebook page.

MELINDA BARBARO

Barbaro and his wife separated in 2013, just months after he was released from prison for manufacturing the drug ice.
CRIME FIGURE MOVED FAKE CASH FOR BARBARO
The slain gangster’s wife said Barbaro had a fierce devotion to God and Archangel Michael, and asked her for a lavish $10,000 mahogany coffin adorned with statues of Jesus and Mary and a plaque of The Last Supper just days before his death.
“He was typical Italian and loved everything to do with religion and food,” Ms Barbaro told The Daily Telegraph in the weeks following his death.
“Yes he loved his Versace shirts and Rolexes but he went to church to pray and was fiercely loyal and protective to me and our children.
“There were statues of La Madonna and Jesus and archangels around the house and we’d always read the Bible to the children at night.
“What he became just before his death was not the loving, kind, family man I married. He was different after prison, his head was messed up.”
SANAA MEHAJER
The younger sister of former Auburn deputy mayor Salim Mehajer had kept a fairly low-profile until she made headlines for her whirlwind romance with Mouhamed ‘Moudi’ Tajjour — former vice president of the Nomads who previously spent time in prison for manslaughter.
The cousin of Kings Cross identity John Ibrahim and Salim’s sister wasted no time tying the knot, getting married just two days after announcing their engagement on Christmas Eve last year.
Both prolific Instagrammers shared footage of their nuptials on the social media platform, with Mehajer making an effort to show off her large engagement ring.
The union of two of Sydney’s most colourful families sensationally ended on the honeymoon when Mehajer alleged their relationship deteriorated into abuse, name-calling and public threats.
Both Tajjour and Mehajer decided to get back together on Valentine’s Day in February and agreed “to live together to see if they could fix their marriage”.
Once again, things went sour and Mehajer sought an apprehended violence order (AVO) against her estranged husband just months after the wedding — Tajjour faced Burwood Local Court and consented to the AVO on April 12 this year.
The court ruled Tajjour is not allowed to contact his estranged wife for 12 months, is not allowed to go within 100m of her parents’ Lidcombe home and cannot go near her university.
No charges have been laid against Tajjour and he has not admitted fault in any of the matters.

RIKKI LOUISE SUTTON
Instagram starlet Rikki Louise Sutton was previously engaged to former Bandidos sergeant-at-arms Brett “Kaos” Pechey — a man who was once Queensland’s most wanted bikie.
While not from Sydney, Rikki Louise began dating the heavily tattooed bikie who had patched over to Sydney’s notorious street gang Brothers 4 Life and was attempting to build the brand in Queensland.
Rikki Louise announced she was engaged to Pechey in April this year when shared a picture of herself wearing an engagement ring while draped over her partner’s tattooed shoulders.
Just three months later the pair had gone separate ways, with Pechey making the announcement on Instagram.
“She has been there threw [sic] thick and thin and to be honest I have just f**ked up her life because of my past and my f**k ups, and she still made sure I was okay regardless if we were together or not together.”
