An ageing swimming pool complex in Sydneyâs south is set to become a new facility complete with better adventure slides and a splash pad for the whole community to enjoy into the future.Bayside Council received a development application for a new Botany Aquatic Centre,Â located on the corner of Myrtle St and Jasmine St, Botany.The proposal includes demolition of the exisiting recreation facility and building newÂ indoor and outdoor swimming pools and leisure facilities costing $68,407,544.There will be a new 50m outdoor lap pool, 25m indoor pool and an indoor learn to swim pool, as well as two adventure waterslides and splash pad outdoor play area.There will also be a gymnasium, sunshades, change rooms and amenities including a kiosk. An ageing swimming pool complex in Sydney’s south is set to become a brand new $68m facility complete with adventure slides and a splash pad. See the plans.

A subcontractor has been fined $450,000 after an apprentice carpenter fell through a shaft in a floor during construction of a high-rise building and was impaled on bars in a serious workplace incident in Wollongong. SafeWork NSW prosecuted company Metsquare alleging it failed in its duty to ensure workers were safe and it exposed the victim Anuwant Khumkhrong to serious injury at 10-18 Regent St, Wollongong on August 28, 2019.
