General reporter and digital producer Josh Preston graduated from Chancellor State College in 2013 and from the University of the Sunshine Coast with a Bachelor of Communication in 2018. His journalistic interests range from crime, sport, offbeat, human interest, mental health awareness to breaking news. Josh’s series of articles on the unsolved death of Wolvi woman Kirra McLoughlin helped pressure authorities to hold a coronial inquest into her death, which has started but been adjourned for completion. Josh’s early life was split between living in Gippsland, Victoria and the Sunshine Coast, where he finished high school and completed his degree. One of the many reasons he loved the Gympie region is that it reminds him of growing up in country Victoria. Josh’s other interests include reading as many books as he can manage, watching movies, playing guitar, listening to music and obsessively following his favourite sports teams.
