Four Gympie community heroes nominated for Queensland awards

Cindy Hartwig of Heartbeat Training, the Cooloola Coast Bowls Club, Beverley Goodall of Gympie Medical Transport and Gympie Medical Transport itself have been nominated in their respective categories, with winners to be announced in November.

Four Gympie community “heroes” have been nominated for 2021 Queensland Community Achievement Awards after a “statewide search for community contributors”.

Cindy Hartwig of Heartbeat Training, the Cooloola Coast Bowls Club, Beverley Goodall of Gympie Medical Transport and Gympie Medical Transport itself have been nominated in their respective categories, with winners to be announced in November.

Ms Hartwig was nominated for the Australia Pacific LNG Community Hero Award, while the Bowls Club were nominated for the

Special Event Presentations Local Sporting Club Making a Difference Award.

Gympie Medical Transport got the nod in the Awards Australia Community Group of the Year Award, as did Ms Goodall.

The Queensland Community Achievement Awards began in 2002 with a regional focus, but is now conducted statewide.

The awards have been “encouraging, acknowledging and rewarding the valuable contributions that individuals, communities and businesses are making throughout Queensland”.

The awards recognise those that “work tirelessly to improve their communities by promoting the social, economic and environmental prosperity”

Each category winner will receive $1,000 cash and $1,000 Bartercard, while all nominees and finalists receive a letter of congratulations and a certificate of encouragement for their nomination.

Finalists will be presented and Winners announced at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner on Friday 5th November 2021.
