Eastwood has some Asian food gems, including this Japanese joint specialising in ramen, Japan's famed big bowl dish of wheat noodles in a deeply flavoursome soup. Zenya's is right on the money, the clincher being, as always, the broth, simmered for 16 hours to deliver maximum flavour. The toppings also rock; slices of roast pork, albeit fatty, are smoky and fork-tender, and soft-boiled eggs add creamy richness. The udon noodle soups are also super (soup-er?) flavoursome. Japanese favourites are available a la carte, but noodles are where it's at.
