Ubud
Indonesian$$
It’s a little slice of Bali in downtown Kingsford - minus the wafts of kretek and unmistakable pling of a gamelan orchestra. The soaring interior, with its carved stone details and dark timber feel, resembles a resort restaurant, albeit one with outrageously bad acoustics: it’s loud in here! The menu features many Indo standards such as soto ayam, satay and gado gado, with a tendency towards sweet flavours. It ventures into specific Bali territory with the likes of bebek Ubud (duck in a roll-your-own crepe) and ayam bulungan, a succulent deep-fried chicken flavoured with a special house blend of spices.
