Ottawa | Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said there was “absolutely no justification” for Donald Trump imposing 25 per cent tariffs on Canadian exports as he detailed a two-phase response.
Trudeau, who is poised to step down from office on Sunday, said Canada was imposing immediate 25 per cent tariffs on $C30 billion ($33.2 billion) worth of US imports and, if need be, would target another $C125 billion worth in 21 days’ time. Beijing also hit back at the US with tit-for-tat tariffs.
