Washington DC | The outlook for the US and global economies have significantly worsened in the wake of President Donald Trump’s tariffs and the uncertainty they have created, the International Monetary Fund says.
The IMF said on Tuesday that the global economy would grow just 2.8 per cent this year, down from its forecast in January of 3.3 per cent, according to its latest World Economic Outlook. Global growth next year will be 3 per cent, the fund predicted, which is also below its previous 3.3 per cent estimate.
