Washington, London | US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke for the first time in almost two months, as Washington looks to temper Israel’s retaliation against Iran for last week’s missile attack.

The US, European and Arab states fear Israel is planning a strike on Iranian nuclear or oil facilities that could widen the Middle East conflict and drive up energy prices, while also waging war on its southern and northern borders against Hamas and Hezbollah militants.
