End to gay sex ban a boon for Singapore economy, say activists

Singapore | Repealing a law that criminalises sex between men will make Singapore a more attractive destination amid fierce global competition for talent, activists say.

The many groups that have waged a long campaign to repeal Section 377A issued a joint statement on Monday expressing relief after Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced the government’s intention to axe the law.
