Jakarta | The free trade deal between Australia and Indonesia might not enjoy the smooth passage expected in the Indonesian parliament, after the opposition this week raised concerns about how an increase in imports would hurt the trade balance.

The Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Agreement was debated for the first time on the floor of the Indonesian parliament on Monday, after it emerged from the commission process where proposed legislative changes are reviewed before being put before all MPs.
