Lam urges peaceful end to HK uni siege

Hong Kong | Hong Kong's chief executive Carrie Lam has urged a peaceful end to the three-day siege at a university campus, which has become the latest and most violent battleground of the city's political crisis.

An estimated 100 students were still inside the barricaded Hong Kong Polytechnic University on Tuesday afternoon, after hundreds of sick, injured and exhausted protesters left the campus on Monday night and Tuesday morning. Many were arrested as they either tried to escape or left voluntarily, while minors were allowed to go home but face prosecution later.
