Hong Kong | Hundreds of Hong Kong students were trapped inside a barricaded university campus surrounded by riot police on Monday, following an all-night siege in which thousands of masked protesters clashed with the authorities in separate street fights nearby.

As China's patience with the mass unrest gripping the city for more than five months appeared to be running out,  parts of Hong Kong were transformed into war zones for the second week in a row, as protesters tore up bricks along the popular shopping street of Nathan Road in Kowloon.
