Why goods meant for Sydney are ending up elsewhere
Shipping vessels have started skipping ports and leaving cargo in different states, ratcheting up costs for customers to haul them back, as the wharfies’ union extends its industrial action at DP World terminals to two months.
The Maritime Union of Australia this week notified further stoppages and work bans at DP World terminals across the country until November 20 after claiming the stevedore refused to budge over workers’ claims.
