Union push for five weeks’ annual leave for everyone

Unions will push for laws requiring that employees get five weeks’ paid holidays a year as the movement celebrates major legislative victories under Labor rule and flags no let up in its ambitious reform agenda.

Unionists are expected to commit to the leave campaign on Thursday at the ACTU Congress, where the peak body’s secretary Sally McManus called on officials to reverse their shrinking membership by taking advantage “of an environment that is more favourable than we have had for decades”.
