Union fails in unprecedented bid to end industrial action at Qube
The rail workers’ union has failed in an unprecedented bid to end two weeks of industrial action at Qube, but not before the workplace umpire voiced its “extreme disappointment” at the logistics giant for agitating the union.
Fair Work commissioner Stephen Crawford rejected the Rail, Tram and Bus Union’s application to terminate a proposed indefinite strike by 180 train drivers starting on Tuesday after finding no evidence Qube‘s response to the action would threaten commuters’ safety.
