Union delegates will earn an extra $3 an hour and gain special protections against the sack under a new deal being rolled out in the construction industry.

The Electrical Trades Union has introduced the new delegate payments and industrial protections in agreements with 15 electrical contractors in NSW over the past two months, building on similar privileges first set up in Queensland by the Construction, Forestry, Maritime, Mining and Energy Union.
