‘Like I won the lottery’: six months’ paid parental leave on the rise

Liam Stallbaum was preparing to go back to work after four weeks of parental leave when he received a surprise phone call from his employer Aussie Broadband.
His boss was ringing to tell him he didn’t need to return the following week after all. The company had just adopted a new policy offering up to 26 weeks of fully paid parental leave to both primary and secondary carers.
