‘Horse has bolted’: Burke consults over right-to-disconnect fix
Workplace Relations Minister Tony Burke has initiated a last-minute consultation with business over a technical fix to the right to disconnect, despite not consulting over the actual right itself.
The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations on Tuesday afternoon notified the Committee on Industrial Legislation – made up of unions and business groups – to give feedback on a stand-alone bill to remove criminal offences for breaching the right by Wednesday morning.
