Queensland Labor is requiring that union delegates be paid more than $110,000 a year and get a fully equipped office on state projects under rules builders fear could be replicated at a federal level.
The Palaszczuk government’s “best practice industry conditions” for major construction projects specify union-friendly measures for tenders, including a $2.39 an hour allowance above the trade rate for union delegates that amounts to at least $1942 a week, or $111,387 a year.
