Employers ask for Fair Work reform in roundtable pitch

Resources employers have reached across the aisle to stop biased appointments to the workplace umpire, in what could be a major candidate for consensus reform at the government’s productivity roundtable.

The Australian Resources and Energy Employers Association has pitched a tripartite panel – made up of the ACTU, the workplace relations minister and business representatives – that would help select new members for the Fair Work Commission, including the next pick for its powerful president position in 2028.
