ASX-listed companies have sparked a bidding war for senior female talent by focusing on getting women into leadership positions without increasing the number of women entering their industries, business leaders have warned.

“All that stuff at the top ... all it does is drive the price up,” former sex discrimination commissioner Pru Goward told The Australian Financial Review Workforce Summit on Tuesday.
