CFMEU organiser on threat charges faces new inquiry

A CFMEU official who kept his position despite facing charges of threatening to kill a labour hire firm owner is now under investigation over claims of booting an Indigenous firm off a government project.

The Fair Work Ombudsman and the CFMEU are investigating allegations that Indigenous organiser Joel Shackleton threatened to kick a subcontractor off the Victorian government’s North East Link project unless it barred an Indigenous-owned trucking company assisting it at another state project.
