Former CFMEU leaders plead guilty to corruption

The CFMEU’s former leaders in NSW have admitted to taking thousands of dollars in cash bribes from an employer in return for preferential union treatment and access to building projects, as part of a deal with prosecutors to end the long-running case.

Former CFMEU NSW secretary Darren Greenfield and his son and deputy leader, Michael Greenfield, pleaded guilty to charges of receiving corrupting benefits in Sydney’s local court on Tuesday in return for prosecutors dropping some charges.
