CEO blasted for mocking employee before 'ruthless' sacking

The Fair Work Commission has slammed the chief executive of a major call centre company for mocking an employee by asking if he felt “warm and fuzzy” when he requested a support person at a disciplinary meeting.

Commissioner Jennifer Hunt held that OracleCMS chief executive Kali Gayle’s “deplorable” actions contributed to making the company's subsequent dismissal of the staffer unfair, despite finding it had a valid reason to do so because he had repeatedly refused requests to learn new skills.
