The public sector has more to do on gender equality despite recording significantly lower gender pay gaps than its private sector peers, the head of the nation’s gender equality agency has warned.
High bonuses to overwhelmingly male executives pushed the pay gap wider at key agencies. Other organisations recorded significant pay gaps such as at the Reserve Bank and Future Fund, despite women making up more than two-thirds of their staff.
