The workplace umpire’s urgent intervention into the Minns government’s dispute with psychiatrists has failed to stop the threat of mass resignations that could deplete the NSW hospitals’ workforce by a third.

NSW Health and the health professionals union on Tuesday agreed to have the NSW Industrial Relations Commission arbitrate psychiatrists’ pay claims of up to 25 per cent increases and set an urgent five-day hearing on March 17.
