ANU alumni call on Julie Bishop to stand vice chancellor aside
Alumni of the Australian National University concerned over revelations that vice chancellor Genevieve Bell held a second paid position with a multinational technology company have raised the issue with chancellor Julie Bishop.
The group, representing 100 alumni and staff, including distinguished professors, also wrote to the Australian National Audit Office to request an urgent and full financial audit of the university. Numerous staff have said they are sceptical that the university’s financial position is so severe that it would necessitate a restructure being proposed by Professor Bell.
