Pipeline of female directors is 'weak'

A fall in the number of women being appointed to senior operational roles threatens to put the brakes on female director appointments, says one of the country's most senior directors.

Ann Sherry, a director of National Australia Bank and Sydney Airport and chairman of marketing company Enero Group, pointed to the success of traditionally male-dominated companies such as Fortescue, Incitec Pivot and BlueScope in assembling boards with strong female representation.
