Private school fees to rise at almost triple the rate of inflation
Australia’s top private schools will slug parents with fee hikes next year of up to 8 per cent – almost triple the rate of inflation – as principals seek to justify the increases as striking the right balance between containing costs and maintaining quality.
The prestigious schools have been gradually contacting parents over the past few weeks with new fee schedules for 2025.
An earlier version of the article incorrectly stated that parents of senior students at The King’s School would pay fees of $54,723 in 2025. As a result of that error, the article also incorrectly asserted The King’s School was the most expensive school of those analysed. The article has been updated with the correct fee of $47,045.
