Sydney University’s stellar performance in global university rankings is on the back of unpaid labour by an army of casual staff, says the academics’ union.
Staff at the elite university picketed entrances and held a rally on Thursday saying negotiations for a new enterprise agreement had been dragged out by a management go-slow that had entered its 15th month. It will repeat the strike action on Friday, with university management telling students and staff to stay away from campus.
