New city, new industries, new approach to education and training
The new city of Bradfield in Sydney’s western suburbs will turn around traditional approaches to tertiary education by starting with industries, research and advanced manufacturing and then filling skills and training needs as they emerge.
Jennifer Westacott, chairwoman of the Western Parklands City Authority, says that by being clear about what jobs industries need and the emerging economic activity around the new Sydney airport will demand a different approach to education and training.
