Micro-credentials are proving popular among workers who want to increase their skills or reskill for a new job, but there is still little agreement on what a micro-credential really is.

It’s a problem for workers in knowing exactly what they’re going to learn from a micro-credential and for employers in being able to assess the value of individuals’ micro-credentials.
