Melbourne University has again been named Australia’s best, sneaking up one place to 32 in the widely respected Academic Ranking of World Universities.

Australia again has seven universities in the top 100, with four moving up from their position in 2021. Sydney University is the standout, having gained nine places to come in at 60th and overtaking its neighbour and bete noir, the University of NSW, which rose one place to 64.
