Come January 2025, large companies will need to include climate-related information in their annual reports. It is all part of a global plan to encourage investors to allocate capital to companies that are managing the transition towards a net-zero economy.
Under the regime, companies must add another section to their annual reports. Alongside the financial statements, the director’s report and the audit report, boards will need to publish a sustainability report, which must identify the company’s material climate-related risks and opportunities.
