AI jobs plateau suggests we’re embracing skills

Hiring for jobs that require AI proficiency has plateaued, according to a new report. But rather than indicating a loss of appetite, its authors say the levelling off could be a signal of the normalisation of AI skills among the existing workforce.

The PwC AI Jobs Barometer, released on Tuesday, showed that after a big jump in job listings for AI-skilled workers between 2020 (12,000 listings) and 2021 (23,000), the number has been locked in a holding pattern in the years since.
