In the wilds of Tasmania’s Tarkine, there are few visible tracks and no huts, toilets, park rangers or phone reception. But nothing on the planet compares with the riches that await intrepid visitors.

You’ve hiked the national parks of Tasmania. Seen Cradle Mountain, traversed the Three Capes, conquered the South Coast Track.

Tasmania’s remote Tarkine, or Takayna, will take you to an entirely different world. I trekked with my neighbour Claire into this fairy-book place of pure natural beauty, hiking for six days into areas unexplored by more than a handful of travellers each year, and camping in ancient forests.
