Philanthropy not growing fast enough to meet Labor’s 2030 target

Grants and distributions by charities increased 5 per cent to $9.7 billion in 2021, but that rate of growth is insufficient to hit the Albanese government’s goal of doubling philanthropy by 2030.

And superannuation may be part of the solution, according to Philanthropy Australia, which is calling on the government to make it easier for people to direct part of their super to charity upon death.
