Do this before adding solar panels to your rental property
If the property is owned by a self-managed super fund, be sure to stick to these rules.
Meg HeffronContributorThe summer months are hot. And there are only two good things about this degree of heat. The first is hands down bragging rights with my British sisters-in-law. Even though their brother moved here over 30 years ago, they’re still not really used to the temperatures we see during Australian summers. The second is the tingle of satisfaction I get when I look at the “production” number on my solar panels app.
But that got me thinking : what would I need to consider if the property I wanted to put solar panels on was owned by my self-managed super fund rather than the family home? Could I do it at all?
