Chook super fund’s tech bets pay off
After a second-half win, former Chanticleer columnist Tony Boyd’s SMSF is facing fresh challenges as it shifts from growth to long-term stable income.
The 2023 financial year was the most volatile in the 12-year history of the Chook super fund, with the entire 13 per cent annual return earned in the second half of the year.
The trustees were pleased to see the strategic asset allocation, with its bias towards international tech stocks, perform well in an environment characterised by bearish sentiment toward equities.
