NSW Building Commissioner David Chandler may have announced his impending retirement but says dodgy apartment developers might want to leave their celebratory champagnes on ice until they fully appreciate the legacy he leaves behind.

“We’ve been cooking up a whole bunch of people just like me,” he told this column. “Developers aren’t going to believe what comes flying out of that oven when we open the door.”
