Why self-driving car pioneers are backing an Aussie start-up
Venture capital funds Blackbird, Folklore and Skip Capital, as well as heavy hitters in the self-driving car space have invested $US7.8 million ($11 million) into a young Australian start-up called Strong Compute, which has figured out how to speed up high-performance computing.
Founded by entrepreneur and start-up adviser Ben Sand in early 2021, the Sydney-based company offers fast computing for artificial intelligence such as computer vision, a key technology for self-driving cars, analysing medical images, and aerial imagining.
