Start-up unicorn turns investor in $8m deal

Aussie “unicorn” tech company SafetyCulture has led an $8 million investment round in artificial intelligence start-up Unleash live, after seeing the possibility for it to work well alongside its flagship product, reflecting a growing trend of maturing start-ups investing in other start-ups.

SafetyCulture, which cracked a $2 billion valuation this year, will take a minority stake in Unleash live, a Sydney-based start-up that uses video-based AI to identify patterns in CCTV footage across operations such as mine sites, manufacturing plants, solar farms, transport and cities.
