Saving the world for a profit lures Australian Ethical to CSIRO VC fund

ASX-listed superannuation and investment manager Australian Ethical has become a major investor in the CSIRO’s venture capital fund, Main Sequence, saying its $250 million fund gives it a unique chance to get in on the ground floor of world-changing companies.

The Main Sequence fund, which was revealed in April, is the second fund, and the firm has already backed a wide variety of “deep tech” or science-based start-ups that it says demonstrate the potential to solve the world’s biggest problems.
