CSIRO’s new $250m fund will ‘solve the world’s problems’
The CSIRO’s technology and science investment fund Main Sequence raised $250 million to form a second fund to invest in emerging Australian “deep tech” and science-based start-ups, which it says demonstrate the potential to solve the world’s biggest problems.
Main Sequence now has $490 million in funds under management, with major investors from its first fund, Horizons Ventures, Hostplus and Temasek returning for a second shot, alongside multi-family office operator Mutual Trust and Morgan Stanley Wealth Management.
