‘We will buy Twitter for $US9.74b’: Altman counters Musk’s OpenAI bid
A consortium of investors led by billionaire Elon Musk is reportedly offering $US97.4 billion ($155 billion) to buy the nonprofit that controls artificial intelligence start-up OpenAI, in a move that was quickly rejected by its chief executive Sam Altman.
The offer - reported by the Wall Street Journal - intensifies a longstanding battle between OpenAI CEO Sam Altman and Musk over the future of the start-up at the heart of a boom in generative AI technology.
