Erika Cheung, one of three former Theranos staff who alerted authorities to the company’s illegal behaviour, says it was never her intention to put its founder, Elizabeth Holmes, in jail and says she was simply trying to prevent widespread damage to public health by speaking out.
Speaking at The Australian Financial Review Entrepreneur Summit in Sydney on Tuesday, Ms Cheung said reporting the fraud that led to Holmes and her former business partner, Sunny Balwani, being imprisoned was “the only option for me” and that she “would do it all again”.
